      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p><bold>Purpose.</bold> Development of regional satellite algorithms requires the information on bio-optical properties of a particular water area. The present study is aimed at comparative analyzing the bio-optical properties of optically complex waters differing in their trophic status.</p>
        <p><bold>Methods and Results.</bold> The study combined the results of measuring the spectral bio-optical properties in the waters of the Black, Azov, Barents and Norwegian seas, the Arctic and Southern oceans (Atlantic sector), and the Baikal and Teletskoye lakes. Spectral coefficients of light absorption by phytoplankton, non-algal particles and colored dissolved organic matter were measured in accordance with the International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group Protocols. The study areas included the waters with trophic levels from the oligotrophic to eutrophic ones (the chlorophyll a concentrations in the surface layers varied from 0.066 to 24 mg·m<sup>−3</sup>), and with high heterogeneity in their bio-optical properties: the total non-water light absorption at the wavelength 438 nm varied from 0.021 to 0.97 m<sup>−1</sup>.</p>
        <p><bold>Conclusions.</bold> In all the regions, a high (within an order of magnitude or higher) spatial variability in the values of light absorption coefficients by all the optically active components and their ratios was noted. This fact indicates the optical complexity of waters in each of the regions under study. The regional specificity of parameterization coefficients for light absorption by phytoplankton, non-algal particles and colored dissolved organic matter was shown. The revealed parameterization coefficients for light absorption by the optically active components can be used to develop the regional satellite algorithms for assessing water quality and productivity indicators. Based on the empirically revealed dependencies, the following additional indicators of water quality were proposed: the euphotic zone depth and the spectral characteristics of downwelling irradiance which can be retrieved based on remote sensing data.</p>

      <trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">
        <p><bold>Цель.</bold> Для развития региональных спутниковых алгоритмов требуется информация о биооптических показателях вод конкретной акватории. Настоящие исследования были нацелены на сравнительный анализ биооптических показателей вод, различающихся по оптическим характеристикам и трофическому статусу.</p>
        <p><bold>Методы и результаты.</bold> В работе объединены результаты измерений спектральных биооптических показателей вод Черного, Азовского, Баренцева и Норвежского морей, Северного Ледовитого океана, Южного океана (Атлантический сектор), Байкала и Телецкого озера. Спектральные показатели поглощения света пигментами фитопланктона, неживым взвешенным и окрашенным растворенным органическим веществом измеряли в соответствии с современными протоколами International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group. Районы исследования включали акватории с уровнем трофности от олиготрофного до эвтрофного (значения концентрации хлорофилла a в поверхностных водах варьировали от 0,066 до 24 мг·м<sup>–3</sup>) и с высокой неоднородностью по биооптическим характеристикам: значения показателя суммарного поглощения света взвешенным и растворенным органическим веществом (за исключением воды) на длине волны 438 нм изменялись от 0,021 до 0,97 м<sup>–1</sup>.</p>
        <p><bold>Выводы.</bold> Во всех районах отмечена высокая (в пределах порядка и более) пространственная изменчивость значений показателей поглощения света всеми оптически активными компонентами среды и их соотношений, что свидетельствует об оптической контрастности вод в каждом из исследованных регионов. Показана региональная специфичность коэффициентов параметризации поглощения света пигментами фитопланктона, неживым взвешенным и окрашенным растворенным органическим веществом. Установленные коэффициенты параметризации поглощения света оптически активными компонентами среды могут быть использованы для развития региональных спутниковых алгоритмов оценки показателей качества и продуктивности вод. На основе эмпирически установленных зависимостей были предложены дополнительные показатели качества водной среды – глубина зоны фотосинтеза и характеристика спектрального состава света в море, которые могут восстанавливаться по спутниковым данным.</p>
